Huffington Post

Hey, Huffpost readers! Thanks for the visit. Feel free to shoot me some questions in the comments here and I'll answer them as best I can. If you wanna see some physical prints, there are a few hanging at Brookyn Launchpad which is located at 721 Franklin Ave in Crown Heights. If you really like my work, please browse through my site and consider buying a print or two. Most of it goes back into camera equipment, travel, and legal fees.

Cameos

It's been a little quiet around here lately with winter and the holidays slowing things down a bit. I'm getting around to editing photos and writing up some older stories so expect some new work soon.

In the meantime, enjoy a few links to some recent articles/videos I've made cameos in.

First up, Steve and Andrew's "Undercity" video:

UNDERCITY from Andrew Wonder on Vimeo.

Yep, that's me with the mohawk trying to be the voice of reason. It just didn't seem like a terribly good idea to climb the bridge right after the cops failed to find what they were looking for on it. I figured that if they got a second call they would look a lot harder that time and I wasn't in the mood to risk arrest on a bridge I'd already climbed for Steve's video, so I went home. Luckily for Steve, I was wrong and he ended up with a pretty fantastic video.

Also Steve-related is the recent NY Times Article about his adventures with Erling Kagge. I was mostly just helping out with transportation and logistics. I originally planned on joining in on a few of the adventures, but the size of the group including the media (not to mention the snowstorm) made those locations unmanageable. There was a great dinner at Jacki Lyden's place after the expedition for all the participants. It was pretty great to hear stories from Erling about shooting and eating polar bears on his North Pole expedition.

In other news, Snappel has started posting some of the adventures we shared on his visit to the US back in 2009. Be sure to check it out. This is some of the stuff that I'll be writing about in the near future.

For now a little taste, Snappel on the QB:

Bronx Opening

I'm having another show this week. I'll have 10 photos in this one, including 4 of the ones that I showed at ArtEroTica last month and didn't plan on putting out again. So come out and see them and hang out, I'll be there most of the night.

It should be a fun opening, and it's right in my old neighborhod.

The Seduction of Decay @ The ClockTower Salon
October 8th – 30th
Opening Reception Friday October 8th 7pm – 12 am

Gallery hours: 10am – 6pm Tuesday through Saturday

The ClockTower Salon presents The Seduction of Decay, a group exhibition of international photography curated by Diana Rivera, featuring the images of Salvador Angel, Emily J. Hara, Shane Perez, and Rivera herself.

The exhibition discusses cultural constructs of beauty, asking the viewer to re-evaluate aesthetics, while introducing them to an underground world of unexpected, forgotten environments. The work pushes the boundaries of the relationship between photographer and subject by accessing the forbidden, and juxtaposing the ephemeral with the enduring effects of time.

By train: 6 to 3rd Avenue/138th St., 4 to 138th St.

This won't be in the show, but here's a shot from the Park River Conduit in Hartford I took recently:
